Wines
from Uclés conquer the Swedish monopoly
This is the result of the efforts of
Uclés Appellation in order to expand its markets
Precisely in this sense, this week comes to an end
the ‘First Winery Internationalization Course’,
developed by the appellation of origin from Cuenca.
With the financial support of the winery training programme
of ‘Castilla–La Mancha Land of Vines Foundation’,
the course extends along three weeks in which quite
a number of relevant topics in the approach to foreign
markets are reviewed. The contents of the course range
from basic export issues to the implementation of market
research studies or the analysis of customs duties
systems.
Uclés Appellation is fully conscious of the
necessity of the training and education of the appointed
wineries personnel, in order to provide them with the
right commercial tools regarding exports. That’s
why the institution is clearly focused in training
resources investment, a key aspect to take Wines from
Uclés to any market in the best conditions.
The efforts of Uclés Appellation in this sense
have been recently rewarded with the admission of its
first wines in the ‘Systembolaget’, the
state’s alcoholic drinks distribution monopoly
in Sweden. The first order is made of around 7,000
bottles of 2006 ‘Young with Barrel’ wine,
made with Tempranillo and Syrah grapes by Bodegas Fontana.
Its distribution to final consumers is scheduled for
the end of August.
