The project to establish an independent Designation of Origin (D.O.) was launched in 2003 on the initiative of eight wineries in the region of Castilla – La Mancha who, based on their long experience, were aware of the area's potential for making top quality wines.
An established winemaking tradition, particular qualities in the soil, ideal climate conditions and eight wineries' experience in growing grapes on the land and treating them in the cellar, all warrant the establishment of the Uclés appellation, which offers exclusive coverage to red wines of recognised quality and an exceptional tasting profile. |
